The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) to launch its Islamabad Chapter
The Indus Entrepreneur (TiE), the world’s largest non profit organization committed to budding entrepreneurs around the globe, is all set to launch its Islamabad chapter at a ceremony in local hotel here on Saturday.
The TiE was founded in 1992 in Silicon Valley by a group of successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives, and senior professionals with roots in the Indus region with a mission to foster entrepreneurship globally through mentoring, networking, and education,says a statement issued here today. TiE has helped boost the economies of the communities in which it operates. Now operational in over 11 countries with 49 chapters and more than 12000 members, TIE has been instrumental in launching hundreds of successful startups and attracting over US$ 200 billion in Venture Capital.
TIE, an entrepreneurial revolution that is sweeping the globe, operates on the principle of giving back to the society by helping and mentoring budding entrepreneurs and providing them access to valuable networks of mentors, business advisors, Venture Capitalists and Angel Investors.
The launch ceremony will be graced by Pakistani High officials and Leading successful Entrepreneurs, MDs, CEO’s of leading business and Industrial concerns, Venture Capitalists, Angel Investors, Financiers, Bankers, Vice Chancellors and Deans of Business, Engineering and IT Universities, Student Leaders, Policy Makers from the Govt Sector, representatives of Chambers of Commerce, Trade Bodies, Heads of Donor and Bilateral Agencies, Editors of leading Media Houses who will not only attend the event but will share their experiences and expertise.
The President TiE Islamabad Chapter Ms. Sarah Hashwani will brief the audience about TiE Islamabad’s goals, visions and aspirations.
The TiE Global Board Representative Khalid Chaudhry will give a keynote address on the occasion.
All TiE members are volunteers who take out time from their busy schedules to ensure that TiE’s objectives are met successfully. So far TiE Islamabad has about 40 Charter Members, 30 Associate Members and 60 student members and these figures are expected to grow rapidly during the year.
TiE is the largest pool of intellectual capital anywhere and the brand is globally synonymous with entrepreneurship.
TiE’s main objective is the promotion of conscious entrepreneurship which helps in job creation, poverty reduction and alleviation and changing mindsets.
It has 5 core components including the Mentorship Program in which Successful experienced entrepreneurs assume the responsibility of taking 3 to 4 budding entrepreneurs under their wings train and guide them.
